Children and adolescents with EDA may resist everyday demands with intensity, often appearing controlling, manipulative, or oppositional. But what if these behaviors stem not from defiance—but from fear?

A groundbreaking study by Stuart, Grahame, Honey, and Freeston (2020) offers a fresh lens: they propose that intolerance of uncertainty (IU) and anxiety may be key drivers behind EDA behaviors.

🔍 What Is Intolerance of Uncertainty?

Intolerance of uncertainty is a cognitive bias where individuals struggle to cope with ambiguous or unpredictable situations.
