Weekly Reflections and Focus
So I thought I’d change things up a little bit. Here are some official stats from my last 3 St. George 70.3 events.

So, the information is above. First year, I bit off more than I can chew but I was determined not to quite and obtain my finisher’s medal and hat. The second go, I did a lot right. I was able to finish with my best time so for. In 2017, I had a few mishaps even though I PRD my swim, my cycling and transitions. I fumbled the run b/c I didn’t manage my nutrition correctly and the variables of the strong winds and heat derailed me.
It’s always an interesting thing trying to get back into the swing of things after a major event/race. Family wants its time, work wants what it needs, trying to make everything get back into a rhythm. You just have to take one step at a time and re-calibrate and re-center. A lot of different things tend to compete for priority and focus.
I went out on a simple 5 k run and just blew through it. I feel fresh and recovered. I feel like I need to get back to the pool and begin hitting longer distances and upping both my volume and focus. Life is great. We are adjusting and getting ready for our new normal. The kids are working through it too.
This week has been fast but a bit off on volume. Time to bring things back. See ya next week.
