Rabbit holes

As a dyslexic it is hard to read! Sometimes I have to read and listen multiple times because my brain is in too many places at once. As I revisit this Timothy Egan work – in audio format this time, a line came across that stopped me cold today.

“One day Simmons had a religious vision – of a uniquely American hate society guided by god”.

– this Simmons can be scratched here – https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Joseph_Simmons

As I connect reconstruction era dynamics with Edward Bernays PR tactics – some phrasing Is being redeemed and recharacterized in plain sight.

Rage against the machine isn’t that far off I imagine – some of those that burn crosses – their lyrics parade….

It’s late, my kiddos are restless and I had an off watch swim with a curious conversation at the pool!

There is a lot of noise out there these days – so I turn within and insure my resilience and adaptability is in tact so I can help carry the heavy weight of helping my family navigate these chaotic and volatile times. The best place to hide a secret is at the tip of one’s nose – it’s also a great place to hide deception!

If you haven’t read this book it may be of interest- but it’s not for the faint of heart. Cheers!
