Traditions – Yule related

❄️❄️❄️❄️Some celebrate Yule on the Winter Solstice… ❄️❄️❄️❄️
❄️❄️❄️❄️but it hasn’t always worked that way. ❄️❄️❄️❄️
In Norse tradition, Yule (Jól) began later in midwinter — on the full moon. But when Yule was added to the Wheel of the Year, they aligned it to the winter solstice.
This eclectic 12 Days of Yule calendar is designed for modern pagans and witches who want to start on the night before the Solstice and weave in traditions and themes present across many winter folk and pagan traditions.
As the 12 Days of Yule is a modern tradition that mostly weaves in the themes and traditions of the winter holiday, please feel free to mix and match the days as you see fit and add in your own gods if the ones here don’t align with you.
Here’s the version you can follow from Solstice through the New Year:
⭐️ Mother’s Night (Mōdraniht)

⭐️ Odin’s Day
