Joy, Chaos, and the Beautiful Mess of Fulfillment
They say luck is when preparation meets opportunity. But fulfillment? That’s something deeper. I think it’s where joy and luck collide—unexpected, unplanned, and absolutely transformative.
While the world burns in its own dumpster fires and people trade time, energy, emotion, and attention like currency, I’m just over here vibing. Thanks to science and IVF, we welcomed our second child—and then, miraculously, two more naturally. Now we’re a crew of six, with four wildly unique, vibrant, and delightfully feral little humans.
Dave Matthews sings,
“If at all God’s gaze upon us falls, it’s with a mischievous grin—look at him.”
And honestly, I feel that. I’m just soaking in the joy of watching these kids grow, each in their own way.
Juniper is thrilled to meet new friends at school. Astrid is all about art and would happily skip PE. Lucas just wants to be close to his sisters. And Dennis? He’s finding joy in spending more time with all of them. It’s messy, loud, and probably looks chaotic from the outside—but it’s ours. And it’s beautiful.
I’ve learned more about myself through them than I ever expected. I fight the monsters I could be, every day, to help my wife and kids find their own intersections with joy. Maybe we don’t have it all figured out—but maybe we know just enough.
I keep the blurry, dirty-lens photos. They remind me that before I can help others see clearly, I have to clean my own lens first. And if I’m lucky enough to do that, maybe I can help someone else do the same.

I feel like - somebody is watching me!
