“Remind yourself that your task is to be a good human being; remind yourself what nature demands of people. Then do it, without hesitation, and speak the truth as you see it. But with kindness. With humility. Without hypocrisy.”
Marcus Aurelius
Meditations
An important thought an post I had some time ago
One of the most interesting observable moments (awe) to me is when one light sparks the next’s illumination. That spark and combustion is often brilliant. It’s also at that time when the utmost care is to be executed – oft times that excitement leads us to a first encounter that can improperly set unreasonable expectations if one is too far outside the present- in the fairytales of the past or the future. Proper calibration and framing often empowers the candle that was lit and now lighting another or more, can establish reasonable boundaries and expectations where both candles can thrive, share, and blend their separate light sources to increase brilliance. There may be a cost yes, but the roi often surpasses that sacrifice (cost) replacing it with perpetual opportunity.
The truth hurts enough by itself, you don’t have to try to be hurtful.
Be kind. Be humble.
Blowing a candle out – removes all opportunity!
